From Discouragement to Hope...

On our journey, we will encounter incredible obstacles and we get discouraged.
Discouragement is the loss of hope or courage.
Courage (dictionary.com) is “the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, without fear.

Scripture had some very important insights into Hope – Romans 5:3-5 says we can rejoice in problems because we develop endurance which strengthens our character, which gives us hope.

The Apostle Paul is telling us that when we encounter obstacles we can rejoice. That's because when we endure, our character is stronger and we have hope.
So, how do we get from A to H?  Often, A (the starting point of our discouragement) is our attitude.  Sometimes, we need to spend time with God and ask Him to change our attitude and show us how to receive HIS H(ope).
Exercise: the next time you feel discouraged, take time to sit with God and ask Him to help you change your attitude.  Keep a record of what God did for you.
As we make space for God, we receive HIS hope.  Open your hands - receive the wonder of God!
