Prayer

From time to time I am reminded what an honor it is to pray.

I mean, when you think about it, how awesome is it that the God of the UNIVERSE will speak to me anytime I want to talk.  I don't even have to wait.  God is right there wooing me to come join him.

Plus, the Spirit of God is so real.  There is nothing like the Spirit's peace.

Thank you God for listening and speaking.  Thank you for your Son and for your Spirit.

Thank you for always being available and faithful.

Katie's Prayer

PRAYER:
Lord God almighty -- maker of heaven and earth -- we praise you.  We glorify you.  We give thanks to you for your great mercy and for your steadfast love.
Looking around us at the discord and strife among your creation (peoples of the earth)  we kneel to ask your holy healing.
Teach us to live together in harmony
Help us to recognize your presence in the face of all peoples.
Teach us to truly love our neighbors, all our
                   neighbors, as we love ourselves.
Help us to love as you have loved us.

Lord God, we pray especially that you would guide and direct all leaders of the world to seek your will and to courageously live as servant leaders.  We ask that you open their hearts to your good counsel.

May the our leaders and all peoples of the earth become ever more willing to care for the sick, feed the hungry and bring freedom to captives and relief to all who suffer oppression in every nation.

Lord, let us live lives that help "your will to be done and your kingdom to come on earth -- as it is in heaven."
                                                                  Amen

Call to Intercessors

It has been some time since my last post.  God has been actively working to lay groundwork "outside the walls" of the organized church and prayer has been part of that plan.  As we reach "outside the walls" to speak for Christ, the Spirit draws us together as a community of faith.  I would invite you to pray for the work God has anointed for this hour.  Pray for leaders young and old.  Pray for those God is calling to help potential leaders of the faith throughout the globe; pray for the oppressed who would be leaders; pray for pray-ers to come together as a community, unified and bold.  I invite you to pray with us as a community.
